Laws on making payments?
does anyone know if the law that protects you from wages being garnished a.k.a. ~~ if you are making payments the business you owe money too can not garnish your wages...is that law whatever the wording still in effect or obsolete?
Some folks are of the mistaken belief that if you send a small payment, the creditor can't do anything. That isn't true.
If you default on your agreement, the creditor can demand full payment immediately. They can take whatever payment you send and still take you to court. Of course, there are laws controlling the amount of money the creditor can take from your pay -- max of 25%.
