Property Taxes in New York City?

I have some relatives considering purchasing a $1.4 million place in New York city. They live in New Jersey right now, but they are so old (or so they claim, they are like 50 each) they say they cannot keep making the trip from New Jersey to New York each day. They both take public transportation and walk everywhere, being "anti-car" people, and I guess not having all the costs of an automobile for 3 decades has added up. Or the fact they are actuaries. Yah.

Anyway, what kind of taxes can they expect to pay on the purchase on this place? I understand its in Midtown West, they will be paying it all at once, no loan, unless the taxes are high enough to push the price above $1.5 million.
