How do I clean my credit and build my score in 6 months?
I want to own a home and not rent by the the time I'm 22 years old. How can I go about doing so?
first you need to clean your credit.
get a current copy of your credit report at annualcreditreport..then dispute everything that's erroneous.
2. start saving money for a down payment...you can save at least 3% of whatever you plan to buy...and do a FHA loan. get credit cards, bank loans to build your credit. Do not try and get credit cards--not good to have a lot of credit cards... Do not start any new loans--like a new car... do not cosign for a loan.... Pay off all your creditors.... pay all your utilities on time--no late fees.....Go and make an appointment to see a mortage loan officer... He will examine all of the details including income and how long you have been employed. Some loan companies want 5 years of income tax reports---you can bet on 3 years... Then he will tell you if you can get a loan based on income and past performance paying your month bills... He can also tell you how much money they can lend to purchase a home. If everything has a green lite -- start looking for a home in your price range.
The reason you should not have any debt---they use a debt to income ratio to figure the monthly mortge payment you can afford... Daddigurl , dont fall in the trap and try to get more creit cards
