Is it true that taco bell and subway hire at age 14?

i want a job but i cant find anything that is hiring at age fourteen. i live in los angeles.

  • No, they hire at 16. People don't get hired at 14 unless they get hooked up. If you need a job at 16, go work at In and Out, they start paying $10, while McDonalds only starts you off at $7 an hour.
  • i thinks its 15
  • depends on what state you live. Most place it's 16.
  • No,...there are child labor laws and they cannot hire an underaged youth.
  • NOOOO
  • landscaping
  • No, it is not ue, because that is Illigeal!!
  • If, they do, you should only be allowed to work 4 hours, in the summer, not sure about the rest of the year. It is more important, that you go to school and get your education. You will have plenty of time, to work after college. Have a good night.
  • I always thought anywhere in the u.s was 14 with a permet and 16 without?
  • Depends on the state. Where I live I could work at the age of 14. You may want to call the Federal Wage and Hour Board, they will be able to tell you what the legal hiring age is for your area.

    Good luck.
  • you can get working papers at 14 in my state, can't work too many hours, but hey, kill some time, make some spending money
  • Depends what the law is in your state. Not sure of what LA's is, but most places are sixteen. Google it.
  • Try an amusement park they usually hire at 14
  • My step daughter was 14 maybe just turning 15 when she went to work for subway but she lives in South Dakota so I don't know if the laws are different there. you can call the subway closest to you and ask.
  • i know subway does but my friend couldnt work past 7pm because its overworking a child or something like that.....this was in texas
  • no it is not true
  • I'm not sure about L.A., but some states allow younger workers (restricted part-time). I'm in NE at the moment & some of the fast food places will hire 14 yr olds, but they're only allowed to work a few hours a week (maybe 10) & only to a certain time of night. At 15 they can work more, but are still limited.

Your best bet is to go to the place you want to work and ask them what their age requirement is for employment.
  • yah @ 14 I think the only jobs your looking @ is golf caddy =]!!
  • Yes. (Not in the State of California)
