Does anyone have a good job?
I've been through many jobs in the past few years because I am always the best worker, but it seems that noone cares and they give promotions and raises to other people that don't deserve it. Does anyone have a job where the company seems to care if you're there or not?
I know some private contractors, one in construction and one in plumbing, where your pay goes up when the quality and amount of work you do go up. I know what you're talking about though, that's why I quit my last job. I got tired of not being appreciated, expecially when the work I was doing was far superior to the work of the others I was working with. The amount someone is paid should mainly be based off of the quality and or amount of work they accomplish, not how long they've worked there--Unfortunately that's not the way it is at most places. Yes, I work for UPS after two months starting at the bottom my hard work payed off and i was promoted supervisor and that came with 9 dollars more an hour...There are company's where hard work pay off but yes they are few and far in between...lots of luck! I know exactly what you are going thru. The last few years have been unbelievable, I have applied myself and worked hard at every job Ive ever had and have just been treated like crap. I just got fired from my last job a few weeks ago.Just one example of how pathetic that was-is this other guy about the same age as me got hired right around the same time as me and this guy was the biggest slacker i have ever seen in my life. I was not late for work once the entire year i worked there and this other guy was seriously 45 minutes to 2 hours late at least three times a week the entire time i worked there. And when he did show up to work he spent more time talking and messing around than he did working. I figured that he would be fired within the first month but even though he has less experience in the indusry than me on top of everything else he is now in a supervisor position with the company and i am unemployed. The guy obviously knew what he was doing though. from the first week he was with the company he would take every opportunity to kiss one of the managers ***- who just happened to be a personal close friend of the owner. So every time he was late or messed up the manager would stand up for him to the boss or just not tell the boss about it at all.
I guess what i am trying to say is that to get a good job you have to kiss the right persons *** because hard work doesnt get you anywere. But if your like me and dont like kissing asses you can take solace in the fact that you can go to bed every night knowing that you have enough respect for yourself to not be an *** kisser.
