How to deal with an unethical manager?
and by unethical i mean, by every possible definition of the word you can think of..... unethical, unprofessional, immature... and so on.......
i cannot say much more than that.... but how to handle the situation, when it's the boss that is unethical.......
You should have a talk with your boss, let them know how you feel, if that doesnt work go up to the next level supervisor. as a management professional myself, these types irritate the f*uck out of me.....unless you can go to his immediate superior, you are a little limited in your options....alot of times they will be in tight with their superior as well and you need to feel that out first or you'll wind up in bigger trouble than it is now. the guy above me that said go to him and discuss your concerns.......don't know if that would be a good idea or not, because if he's that unethical and unprofessional, retaliation on his part certainly wouldn't be out of his realm of ways to deal with it. whatever you do, accusations just won't do it....you have to have documentation....names, dates, actions, any supporting company documents you can get, witnesses are a big plus if more than just you feels that way and will go to bat with you.....but just beware alot of people will talk alot of sh*it when you're sitting around the breakroom table, but will back off when it comes down to it....then take all your claims and supporting documentation and go to the EEOC and/or the labor board and get advice from them. if they can't help you directly, then they can point you in a direction to someone who can. best of luck to you. 1) Not to quarrel with him, any protest would be to the worse.
2) If you don't care much about the work, find another.
3) If you want to stay, be a good professional and by it make all accusations of your boss obviously untrue to all around.
4) But never criticize your boss.
