Is buying and returning constantly a good way to save?

It does help get it out of your system that you bought the product. Also items that you only need to use once. I bought a money sorter at WalMart and returned it after I sorted tons of change that I had.

  • it's definetly a way to save but it is pretty unethical. Sort of like returning a dress after wearing it for the party.
  • No actually, and it can be illegal. Many places keep track of their customers who return things, and if you constantly return things it could become a legal issue.
  • I don't agree at all with returning a used product - not honest and really the whole concept has flaws.

Are you planning on walking to and from the store the item was purchased at? You would save money but only in that you would spend so much time getting to and from the shops. No time left to do purposeful shopping. Have you figured in the cost of fuel/fares? Are you really saving by this method? The fuel used must surely counteract the 'saving'.

Isn't it easier to either not buy at all (how about window shopping?) or taking the time to make a great decision at the time and be happy with your purchase.
